Discover, participate, excel – life beyond the classroom

The school is a yearly participant in ASSAF activities. The following are activities currently introduced in the school: Sport genres: Chess, Soccer, Netball, Volleyball, Basketball, Rugby, Handball, Athletics. We also have vibrant clubs as follows: Debate and Public Speaking, LEO club, JAZ club, Interact club, Dancing club, Scripture Union, Toastmasters, Environment Club.

Performing Arts

Our learners collaborated with celebrated gospel singer, Dorcas Moyo, in singing a song on First Class Group of Schools in 2024 and produced a trending video.

🏆 Outstanding Achievements

Spelling Bee

Won a slot in the 2025 regional competitions in Maseru, Eswatini. Our team is part of Team Zimbabwe.

Sectra Debate

British Parliamentary Debate – won a slot in the 2025 regional competitions in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Chess

2025 District and Provincial Chess Champion – went on to national level.

Athletics

Girl‑child Darts District champion, Provincial 100m & 400m relays, national athlete (2023). District 200m champion 2022–2025.

Recent Participations

  • Diamond FM Education Expo – exhibited detergent products made by learners.
  • Women's University – Women in Science, innovation and inventions exhibition (look, listen & learn).
  • City of Mutare Junior Council drawing/painting competition – certificate awarded.

⛰️ Leadership & Character Building

Prefects & Class Managers

Annual leadership training at Golden Peacock. Prefects investiture by the Principal, Mrs Mutsongodza.

Outward Bound Camps

3–5 day character and team building at Outward Bound Marondera & Chimanimani. Instils discipline and teamwork.

Career Guidance (LLL)

LOOK, LISTEN & LEARN – visits to UZ, HIT, Great Zimbabwe. Exposure to university faculties and entry requirements.

Regional competitions

Debate and Spelling Bee teams are travelling to Johannesburg (RSA) and Maseru (Eswatini) for regional finals.

EDOOFA India

Scholarship programme for Indian universities. First Class High School hosts induction sessions for Manicaland.
